Accelerated Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0

Introduction

This accelerated course covers topics addressed in MS-827, Administering Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0, and MS-828, Deploying and Supporting Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0. Because of time constraints, formal presentation of the Software Metering Modules (827 Module 7 - Software Metering, and 828 Module 8 - Software Metering), and 828 Module 10 - Optimizing SQL Server have been omitted. Students can review the course materials off-line, and bring questions into class. Extra time is scheduled on Friday to give those students who wish the option of completing the Software Metering and Optimizing SQL Server Labs.
Additionally, there are other areas where modules have overlapping information that is available in both courses. In these cases, modules from MS-827 only will be covered (as in 827 Module 2 - Discovering and Installing Clients), or we will cover both the 827 and 828 Modules. There will not bee time to complete both 827 and 828 Labs for these overlapping modules. In these cases there will be two "Lab Tracks". The first "Lab Track" is the 827 Labs and is for students who are first time users of SMS 2.0 and are interested in Basic Administration. The second "Lab Track" is the 828 Labs and are for students who have experience with SMS 2.0 Administration, and are interested in advanced support and Network Capture Analysis of SMS process flows.
Students will be provided with course materials for both MS-827 and MS-828.
