This course presents the features of elementary DCL usage and features basic skills that a novice needs to know to become a functioning user on an OpenVMS system, including:

• Logging in and out of an OpenVMS system
• Setting up terminal characteristics
• Issuing DCL commands
• Creating and editing text files
• Sending messages to other system users
• Writing a simple command procedure
